On August 11th, players, coaches, sponsors and the AFC Mobile board gathered at Moe’s Bar-B-Que in downtown Mobile to celebrate another successful season of soccer in the Port City.
The night culminated with the club naming Chisom Ogbonna the Most Valuable Player of the 2018 season. Ogbonna was also named the club MVP in 2017. Ogbonna lead the team in goals scored finding the back of the net nine times in seven appearances. He also assisted on one goal this season. Ogbonna scored 17 goals and two assists in his GCPL career.
This season saw the Azaleas win four games in the Gulf Coast Premier League and finished the season with a goal differential of +7. The club continued to shatter attendances records with the club now averaging over 1000 fans per game.
