Academy Virtual Tryouts

AFC Mobile’s Academy tryouts are now open! Players will be evaluated based on their skills exhibited in a short video.

Procedure:

  1. Send a short video (no more than 2 minutes in length) to the technical director at stevew@afcmobile.net, which shows your abilities in the following areas: speed dribbling skills, passing & receiving skills, close control dribbling, and anything else you would like us to see in your video entry.
  2. Your email must also include the following information:
  • Players First & Last Name:
  • Date of Birth:
  • Parent/Guardian First & Last Name:
  • Parent/Guardian Email:
  • Parent/Guardian Phone Number:
  • Current Club (if applicable):
  • Example Video:
  • Below are some examples of drills you can use for your video. You may also include game film if you have some.

Players who are identified through this process will be offered a roster spot on one of next year’s teams. Video entries will be accepted through June 19, 2020. Final team selection notification will be sent no later than June 26, 2020.

*Please note players will receive an email response from the technical director promptly after submission. The response will include one of the following: (1) player will be offered a 2020/21 roster spot on a specific team or (2) player is not currently being considered for a 2020/21 roster spot.*

The AFC Mobile Academy is expecting to fill teams in the following categories:

Boys

U19 – ‘02/03

U16 – ‘04/05

U14 – ‘06/07

U12 – ‘08/09

U10 – ‘10/11

U8 and under – Birth year 2012 and under

Girls

U18 – ‘02/03

U16 – ‘04/05

U14 – ‘06/07

U12 – ‘08/09

U10 – ‘10/11

U8 and under – Birth year 2012 and under

Based on availability, the Academy will fill teams by individual birth year (e.g., 2007 stand-alone age groups), whenever possible.

Due to the unique nature of this format as a result of the current state, in August, players will be re-evaluated by their current coach and developmentally appropriate adjustments can be made.
